The Oscar-awarded A.R. Rahman has composed music for a devotional song of Shridi Sai Baba. The song was released in YouTube in three languages; Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
While the Tamil version of this song has been penned by Mashooq Rahman and AR Rahman, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi songs were sung by Parla Shide with AR Rahman.
Someone on the twitter asked, why can’t a Kannada version of this song be released; AR Rahman answered, “request accepted“. So, very soon a Kannada version of this song could be expected.
For the last many years, a misconception was among AR Rahman fans that being a Muslim, AR Rahman won’t compose music for devotional songs in cinemas. Earlier in the year 2003 when the film “Boys” under the direction of Shankar was released, an Iyyappa devotional song in the film was composed by his then assistant Praveen Mani.
Devotees of Shirdi Sai Baba have welcomed AR Rahman’s composition of music for this devotional song for Shirdi Sai Baba.
While AR Rahman says about this song, “As he says, you don’t compose the song but it is the song which composes you. Celebrate this Tamil new year with Sai Shirdi Sai” said AR Rahman.
This song was released on the eve of Tamil new year.
